Senior Logan Van Treeck’s journey to the number one pitcher in the state started from a young spark of interest.

“My brother played [baseball], and I wanted to be like him, so I just started playing when I was 9.”

Since those early days, he’s dedicated much of his time to the sport and even pitched a no-hitter against Creighton Prep in the Spring 2018 season.

Van Treeck is very fond of the relationships he’s formed with both coaches and teammates.

“I’ve made a bunch of friends along the years, and have had fun. I make it a fun part of my life.”

But as we all know, high school can be a very stressful time with trying to balancing extracurricular activities with schoolwork. For Van Treeck, he keeps faith and family at the top of his list, followed by baseball and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“There’s a lot of time-management. [I prioritize] God and family first, and school and baseball.”

On Aug. 12, Van Treeck signed with Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee to continue playing baseball and embarking on a new spiritual adventure.
