The Lincoln Southeast (LSE) baseball team is on a good run after going 3-0 in their last three games. The Knights are currently 7-7 on the season but are hoping to finish the season with a district title and a state championship run.

David Swanson (12) knows his team has the potential to go far and expects some refinement to their game.

“I expect this team to finish strong and play to our full potential because we still have a lot of room for improvement in the next month,” Swanson said.

So far this season, the Knights have shown dominance offensively but are looking to be consistent on both sides, offense and defense. Most of their games this season have been high scoring, but the team is hoping to improve in keeping their opponents’ runs to a minimum.

“Our strong point for the team this year is definitely our hitting. Our pitching has struggled this year so far, but our offense has done a good job of helping us win games,” Swanson said.

The Knights are improving as the season goes on, and Swanson has become a key player for the team’s success. Having played a lot of top teams, there have been some good wins for the team to build on.

“Our best win this season was at Millard West,” Swanson said. “They are always a top five team in the state, but we were able to beat them at their own field 4-3.”

The team comes off of recent high scoring wins against Norfolk and Lincoln Northeast, and they are hoping to enter the HAC tournament with the same confidence.
