A: 6 Years
Q: Where were you before Southeast?
A: I taught at Dawes Middle School, I was the behavior room teacher, I did co-teaching in English, Math. I was also a Reading teacher, a basketball coach, and a track and field coach.
Q: When you went to college, what did you originally want to go do?
A: Business Marketing.
Q: What were setbacks you had during college?
A: Dealing with racist professors and trying to find a group of good peers.
Q: How Long have you been in education?
A: This is my 11th year in the district, 3rd year in leadership.
Q: What were your first impressions of Southeast?
A: It was WOW! This building is huge, and they truly have a sense of community and tradition.
Q: What’s one thing you want new students of Southeast to know?
A: If you want to be challenged and supported you’ve come to the right place. It will not be easy but it will all be worth it.
Q: Why do you think it’s important for kids to learn?
A: I think it is important because they are the future and we want our future students to be educated, productive and resilient people. Without education there is no hope to see our world become a better place.
Q: What is one quote that has inspired you and you think would inspire others
A: The quote comes from 2Pac: “My mama always used to tell me: If you can’t find somethin’ to live for, you best find somethin’ to die for”
