The tennis team had a heart-wrenching loss at state. The team, who had a perfect season, lost to Creighton Prep. Prep had a one-point lead in the final score, ending the tournament (45-44).
Senior Bobby Curry won the No. 2 singles title by defeating last year’s champion, Jacob Wenger from East, and ending his final high school tennis season on a bittersweet note.
Seniors Danny Clare and Andrew Plamann, fought for the doubles title against Southwest in the semifinals and won but ended up losing to Creighton Prep and ended up with a (32-5) season.
All in all, there were three seniors who are now state champions including Bobby Curry, Max Cuppens, and Nick Wimmer. The team won second place overall in a field of 32 teams.
