Friday’s at Southeast High School are filled with excited students looking forward to games and the weekend. This hustle and bustle of Fridays is only going to grow, according to Senior Brittany Jensen, who has a vision of incorporating fanny packs full of candy into the athletic excitement we all know so well. This will ultimately help motivate and encourage students to dress out more often and cheer on the athletic teens.
Jensen’s original vision of a “fanny pack club” was turned down by administration, so she approached the DFA presidents, Dane Chromzak and Max Kiely, about incorporating fanny packs into their agenda. They were more than happy to bring more ideas into the group, so Jensen ordered 15 fanny packs which will be filled with candy and worn by DFA members in the halls at school on fridays as well as at the games. When they see fans dressed out for the theme of that game, they will hand them candy.
“I think it will make the kids dress out more,” said Jensen, ” And I also think it will make people happy. Getting candy on a friday makes you happy.”
Jensen says we can expect to see this tradition started within the next two weeks.
