For last time this year the reserve basketball players had the chance to show the rest of Lincoln what they were made of. The reserve basketball Public Schools Championship was Valentine’s week for LPS, and both our boys and girls teams got out onto the court one final time.
Triathlete and sophomore Grant Snelling played with his fellow teammates against Lincoln High for their first game in the championship.
Snelling spoke fondly of the reserve program, and how they want to win the championship.
“[It’s] win or go home, and we want to win [the state tournament],” said Snelling.
It was the same with the reserve girls team. They faced off against Northeast for their first game in the championship. The lady knights worked together as a team until very end of the game.
Even with Southeast’s losses Snelling spoke on how great the reserve program at southeast is.
“For southeast it’s been clear cut that we have one of the best programs at this level,” said Snelling.
Both teams lost the first round of the championship with reserve girls being tied until the last second with the final score being 34-36. The reserve boys lost to Lincoln High with the final score being 48-50. The Knights finished off the season strong as a team.
