“I have taught in LPS for 22 years-13 years at Pound Middle School, and 9 years here at Lincoln Southeast,” said Mrs. Dimon, a French teacher at Southeast. “Prior to that, I was a TA, teaching French at University of Nebraska, and the University of Illinois. When I was a TA in grad school, I realized I really loved the job! I hadn’t really thought about teaching until that point.”
Dimon finds inspiration in the people around her every day. “I have a husband who is an English teacher at East High, and two kids who graduated from LSE (Walker and Franni). I love biking, hiking, gardening and taking photos. I also love dogs, and have two- a Schnauzer and a French Brittany,” said Dimon. “My husband has influenced me. I have a soulmate to create and maintain a family, someone to share my creative interests, and a person who makes me laugh,” said Dimon. “[And] I adore having the opportunity to work with young, energetic, creative students. It keeps me young.”
This youthful mindset keeps Dimon inspired to focus on her goals. “’Quand on veut, on peut,’” said Dimon. “That’s the French version of ‘When one wants, one can.’ In other words, where there is a will there is a way, and if you focus on the goal-you can get there!”
