Madie Otte, a senior at Southeast, is known for her softball, but wants to be remembered for so much more. “I’d like to be remembered as the person I was at Southeast. I wasn’t just the athlete, I wasn’t just a good student, I was a lot more than that. I helped people, I would volunteer … I went out of my way to help people that were struggling. I would like to be known for that – as a helpful person.”
Ott is planning on attending the University of Nebraska Omaha to play softball. “The happiest moment of my life was when I committed to play softball at UNO. Knowing that I worked my whole softball career for something and finally getting a scholarship to play the sport I love, that was really awesome.”
How did she get so much success? The senior thinks clubs are very important, “I would suggest for any underclassmen to join as many clubs as they can. I have been really involved in DECA and FCA all four years of high school, so I think being involved in that gave me a really good group of friends that I got to be with.”
