For Social Studies teacher Lindsay Schnoor, her teaching journey began this year here at Southeast. She formerly studied at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and is now enrolled in Doane University for her master’s degree.
Even though she is new to teaching here at Southeast, for some upperclassman, she may be a familiar face. “I did my student teaching here two years ago and fell in love with everything about LSE,” said Schnoor. “I was happy to be able to have the opportunity to come back and be not only a teacher but a basketball coach as well.”
Schnoor said her favorite part about teaching at Southeast is the environment she gets to come into every day. “The students and staff here are great!”
Schnoor is also optimistic about what her students take away from her class, “Of course content knowledge but I also hope they are learning the ability to critically think about every situation in their life.”
The advice she wants to pass on to anyone looking to get into her line of work is to just “Do it!” She says, “My student teaching here was an amazing experience and since then I knew I would be happy to be here.”
