Fyn Anderson was all focused eyes, and short answers with a hint of pre-game superstition at football practice the day before Southeast’s first game. There were a lot of mixed feelings on the field, but Anderson’s could be summed up in one word: focused. His head was obviously already in Friday night’s game and beating the Southwest Silverhawks.
“I don’t really like talking about it,” Anderson said when asked about his feelings towards tomorrow, “I don’t want to jinx it.”
Starting center, senior Ben Herbal, however, could not have been more confident or exuberant. After two week-long training camps in the summer and grueling practices to compensate for not having two-a-days, Herbal is feeling quite confident about the team.
“We have been scouting Southwest pretty hard,” said Herbal, “Seeing how they will play and how we will play them.”
Friday’s game will reflect a whole summer of training, excitement, and focus. Southeast will surely be having chicken hawks for dinner.
