Starting on March 16th, many ninth grade English classes began an in-school competition where the students took on the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet. Students were tasked with placing a twist on the story, rewriting each act into scripts, organizing props and costumes, casting roles, filming, and editing the contents into one fifteen-minute film.
For Mrs. Krueger’s sixth period class, the twist was that the storyline reflected that of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This class’s planned fourteen-day project has lasted nineteen. With today being the last day of filming, all there is left to do is edit before the final projects of all participating classes will watch each other’s films and judge which one came out on top.
