Today is the last day to vote for Homecoming Royalty Finalists. After today, each list will be voted down to ten nominees per category. The voting is only open to seniors and the link is available on the LSE web page.

This year, the theme for homecoming is Under the Sea, with the clever nickname H2CO. Student Council is hoping that the decor on homecoming night will resemble the ocean, but will not get confused with other things, like The Little Mermaid.

“We’ll set it up so that upstairs Prasch will be in shallow water and lower Prasch will be under the deep sea,” senior Tillie Jones said. “A lot of time and planning goes into homecoming, and the planning lies in the hands of Student Council. [Student Council] plan decorations, theme, advertising, pick out the style of the crowns and sashes, and organize the entire event.” Jones is a homecoming royalty nominee who is also a member of Student Council.

Seniors on Student Council made a ballot for each other, supporting one another and hoping that a member of Stuco will win a sash or at least make it to the top ten. Winning royalty to these seniors could mean a lot more to them than the average nominee. “We’re working really hard on setting up homecoming, so it’d be kind of like an award to us,” Jones said.
